Classroom education programs are back for regional Victorian schools

By teaching primary-aged Victorian children practical and engaging water safety, lifesaving, and emergency response skills, LSV’s lifesaving education programs create ‘everyday lifesavers’ out of Victorian students.

These skills empower young people to make safe aquatic-related decisions while enjoying their local waterways.

Following two years providing these programs online due to pandemic restrictions, we’re excited to be back on the road in term three to deliver in-person classroom programs to students in regional Victoria. Our education programs are offered as progressive learning experiences, suitable for all year levels including:

  • pre-school
  • junior (P-2)
  • intermediate (levels 3-4)
  • advanced (levels 5+)
  • community groups such as Scouts, play groups, community centres and leisure centres

Aligned to the Victorian Curriculum, our regional education programs aim to provide students with vital water safety knowledge, CPR and first aid skills. Our visit can also be used as an occasion to hand out Victorian Water Safety Certificates if students have achieved them this year!

With support from local partners to provide more students with learning opportunities at school and in open waterways, our 2022-23 lifesaving education regional tours will be kicking off in the classroom from term three when we visit the following regions; Alpine, Bass Coast, Bendigo, Campaspe, Corangamite, East Gippsland, Geelong, Horsham, Latrobe, Mansfield, Mildura, Mitchell, Moira, Shepparton, South Gippsland, Surf Coast, Swan Hill, Wangaratta, Warrnambool and Wodonga regions.

With participation numbers increasing steadily year on year, our education programs are in high demand. Places are limited. Learn more about our 2022-23 lifesaving education regional tours, with practical programs offered term four 2022 and term one 2023.
