Life Saving Victoria (LSV) is proud to have partnered up with Cheer Me to help our members carry their motivation with them everywhere, to achieve their goals as we begin to move out of lockdown.
Using the Cheer Me app, LSV members will have the opportunity to take up our challenges such as at-home and out of home fitness programs for the surf rescue certificate (SRC) and bronze medallion qualifications and a Nemo mini ironperson challenge.
LSV projects manager Kate McLauchlan said these challenges tailored to LSV qualifications combined with Cheer Me’s engaging platform is a great way for members to reconnect with their peers and goals in season 2021-22.
“Neither a social network nor a fitness app, Cheer Me has hundreds of existing challenges within the app and more are added every day,” Mrs McLauchlan said.
“It’s a great way to step outside your comfort zone and reengage with activities after two years in and out of COVID-19 lockdowns.
“The challenges can be completed individually or as ‘squads’ so you can invite your club mates, fellow patrol members, sports teams, friends and family members to join in the challenge ahead of the upcoming season.”
There are more than just LSV’s challenges available though, with programs to suit all levels of fitness, different hobbies and some that are simply for fun.
“As well as LSV-tailored challenges like the bronze medallion and Nemo mini ironperson, there are other programs available for those who need a bit more inspiration,” Mrs McLauchlan said.
“There are alternative, land-based fitness challenges you can take on, such as a couch to 5km for beginner runners, daily drawing for aspiring artists, paying it forward for budding philanthropists and fun activities like building a tower of cards that you can enjoy with your family and friends.”
Cheer Me is a Victorian Government, LaunchVic and Sport and Recreation Victoria supported app that allows users to take on these challenges in their spare time, while providing steps, instructions and encouragement to help users achieve their end goal.
