Mallacoota Surf Life Saving Club has received a generous donation of a purpose-built mobile hub after their original base was destroyed during the bushfires earlier this year.
The new mobile hub is a spacious 21ft caravan donated by Jayco Gippsland and Minderoo that was transformed into the purpose-built hub by volunteers from Woolamai SLSC. They raised 15K to pay for the works and donated six weeks of their time to complete it!
The new hub will give Mallacoota SLSC members an operational base to work from this summer, with features including a modern kitchen, running water, electricity and a base for radio communications with LSV.
This act of generosity is a shining example of the support clubs receive from their communities to help ensure critical water safety and lifesaving activities are delivered over the summer months throughout Victoria.
