LSV Virtual Aquatic Industry Summit Results in Record Participation

On 30 October, LSV hosted its first-ever all-virtual Aquatic Industry Summit. With over 300 registrants, 500 live viewers and now over 1,000 views and counting, this was our biggest summit yet providing an important and free opportunity to participants from across the State. The summit was an opportunity to review, discuss and plan the future of public pools and aquatic safety and address a selection of current industry challenges.

LSV Manager Pool Safety RJ Houston said the summit was a great success, with participations from East Gippsland all the way to Mildura.

“There are a lot of important changes happening across the industry at the moment, and the summit was a great opportunity to discuss those and ensure that we are all working together to ensure we meet the highest safety and programming standards,” he said.

Expert industry speakers presented on a range of key topics in an informative and innovative format, including:

  • Summer of the Perfect Storm
  • 2019-20 Victorian Drowning Report
  • Planning for success – Learn to swim
  • Water Safety Week 2020
  • Bush Nippers – a Lifesaving Program for your pool
  • Water Quality and Healthy Swimming
  • Uber driver by day, cleaner by night – lessons from COVID-19
  • Resilience and Recovery – lessons from East Gippsland
  • Trauma and Mental Health in the Workplace
  • Reinvigorating your staff culture

“With some very powerful and thought-provoking presentations from business leaders within our industry, there were many opportunities to consider how we can make our industry stronger than ever as we come out of the current crisis. I’d like to thank everyone who tuned into the event, our presenters and our sponsors,” he said.
