Did you know…
Life Saving Victoria (LSV) Life Membership is one of our most prestigious awards. It is conferred on members who have demonstrated their distinguished voluntary service at a state level over a period of at least 15 years.
Examples of LSV life members’ achievements include:
- Sustained and continued contribution to the lifesaving movement at the state, national and international levels
- Council officers, panel members, appointed volunteers working at state level to support the mission, values and objectives of LSV
Shortly after the formation of Life Saving Victoria in 2002, the life members of both Surf Life Saving Victoria and Royal Life Saving Society Victoria Branch came together under the banner of LSV.
The names of life members are displayed on LSV’s honours windows at the state centre and are listed in our annual report.
The “Did you know…” section of E-News aims to help our members understand the broader governance framework and other governance initiatives conducted by LSV. Having best practice governance tailored towards our volunteers, social enterprise and emergency service operations is a core pillar and enabler to LSV’s mission to prevent aquatic-related death and injury in all Victorian communities.
