That in addition to our 38,000 frontline volunteers, the LSV Board, each of our five Board Committees, each of our five Councils, and our numerous panels or sub-committees are all constituted by volunteer members.

Each member volunteers their professional skills and experience to help ensure the efficient and proper running of LSV as a whole.

On top of this, each of our 57 affiliated clubs have their own individual Boards, committees and/or panels who are also composed entirely of volunteers.

Each and every volunteer, whether it is directly through LSV or through an LSV affiliated club, is ultimately a member of the broader lifesaving and LSV family. Accordingly, each volunteer is afforded certain privileges, and subject to certain obligations, under their respective club constitution, and the LSV constitution and by-laws.

From the beach to the Board and everyone in between, every volunteer plays their own individual role in LSV’s overall mission to prevent aquatic related death and injury in all Victorian communities and we thank every one of our volunteers for their dedication and ongoing contributions.

The “Did you know…” section of E-News aims to help our members understand the broader governance framework and other governance initiatives conducted by LSV. Having best practice governance tailored towards our volunteers, social enterprise and emergency service operations is a core pillar and enabler to LSV’s mission to prevent aquatic-related death and injury in all Victorian communities.
