Life Saving Victoria is proud to announce the launch of our new ‘Swimming and Water Safety Toolkit’. The Toolkit is home to free resources, support information and case studies for delivering quality swimming and water safety programs in schools. Content will continue to be added to the toolkit on-going, so we encourage you to keep checking the webpage for fresh ideas and updated support resources.
Throughout Term 2, the team will deliver a suite of state-wide workshops in Warrnambool, Ballarat, Bendigo, Wangaratta, Sunshine, Colac, Torquay, Lakes Entrance, Churchill and Melbourne. From innovative dry swimming ideas to 10 lesson survival swimming programs, these professional development workshops and accredited training courses will assist schools and aquatic facilities to enhance their current swimming and water safety programs. Check out the Events Calendar on the toolkit webpage to view dates and enrol.
In addition to the statewide workshops, we will be presenting at the Outdoor Education Victoria Conference, AUSTSWIM Soak It Up Conference, ARV Regional Conference, and teaming up with The Physical Movement – Sean de Morton and Andy Hair to present at their Frankston, Woori Yallock and Warrnambool workshops.
If your school recently completed a swimming and water safety program, don’t forget to provide students who achieved the competencies with their Victorian Water Safety Certificate. The certificate is free of charge for schools and aquatic facilities to order and provides students with official acknowledgement of their achievement. The Swimming and Water Safety Team would love to hear from those of you who have awarded students with the certificate, in particular the recognition and celebrations which accompanied. If you have a unique story to share which we could profile, get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Public Water Safety Initiative is funded by the Victorian Government.
