If you or someone you know has been assisted by the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service in Victoria, or are just glad to see the ‘eyes in the sky’ operating year-round to assist in any emergency, now’s the time to dig deep and purchase a raffle ticket for a good cause.
Simply enter the raffle, organised by Westpac as part of its second annual Westpac Melbourne Golf Day Classic, and you’ll be raising funds for the helicopter service, as well as being in the running for great prizes:
- first prize of a brand new Hyundai i30 Active car, valued at over $20,000
- second prize of a Callaway Epic driver, 3 wood and 3 hybrid with Callaway Epic staff bag
- third prize of an Odyssey Red O Works putter.
This year, the prize raffle will be helping to fund training for the volunteer WLRHS crew members on the service’s new twin-engine helicopter being introduced for the first time this season, offering increased capability for the service.
“Since its first flight in 1973, the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter has been on more than 80,000 missions across the country and retains its promise of being a completely free service for people being rescued,” says LSV Lifesaving Operations Manager, Greg Scott.
“The free service is thanks to the generous support of Westpac, whose sponsorship of the rescue helicopter is one of Australia’s longest-running and most valued community sponsorships,” says Mr Scott. “We couldn’t be more thankful for the generous donations and to Westpac for organising this fundraiser to ensure we can continue to deliver the best service we can to the Victorian community.”
The Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service patrols Victoria’s busy coastline, as well as providing valuable support for other state emergencies and search and rescue (SAR) operations.
On board the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter are a team of highly trained and dedicated volunteers from Life Saving Victoria and a highly-qualified pilot.
All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service and everyone is welcome to enter.
Tickets can be purchased for $25 via: https://admin.galabid.com/auction/wrhls/item/208334.
“Feel free to share the link with anyone in your networks who might be interested,” says Mr Scott, “and keep this valuable service completely free for another 80,000 missions for generations of Australians to come.”
