Public Health and Wellbeing Regulations – Aquatic Facilities Sunset Review

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is currently reviewing the Aquatic facilities section of the Public Health and Wellbeing Regulations 2009, and have drafted an options and discussion paper.

In addition, DHHS is drafting new Water quality guidelines for public aquatic facilities which will replace the ‘Pool Operators’ handbook’.

At this stage of the process, DHHS is seeking industry feedback on the aquatic facilities regulation review and the new Water quality guidelines for public aquatic facilities.

Both documents will be available for public consultation in July 2018, for a period of six weeks. Please email for more information.

DHHS Water Unit is hosting a workshop to facilitate discussion and feedback on the new aquatic facility guidelines and Public Health and Wellbeing regulation review. To register for this event please RSVP via Eventbrite.
